Apple Changes App Store Fees in Europe

Apple is changing its app store rules in Europe, making it easier for developers to offer different payment choices.

Developers who make apps for iPhones and iPads will see big changes. Apple now lets them use other ways to collect payments in Europe. This means developers can offer their own payment systems inside their apps.

Before, developers mainly had to use Apple's payment system. Apple took a cut from each sale. Now, if developers use another payment method, Apple will still charge a fee. This fee is much lower than before. It is only 10% or 17%, down from 15% or 30%. They also pay a small charge for each first app install.

These changes come after European regulators pushed for them. The new rules, called the Digital Markets Act, want to create a fairer app market. Apple made these changes to follow the new European laws. This could mean more choices for consumers and new ways for developers to make money.
