Buffett Changes Gates Foundation Donations
Warren Buffett will no longer send money to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, instead directing his annual stock gifts to his family's charities.
Warren Buffett always gives away a lot of money. Each year, he donates shares from his company, Berkshire Hathaway. This year, the legendary investor gave nearly $6 billion in stock. He made a big change in where that money went.
Buffett previously sent many of his donations to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This time, he left them out. Instead, his children's charities received the large gift. This redirection follows his decision last year to step down from the Gates Foundation board.
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation, and Howard G. Buffett Foundation got the money. These foundations support many causes. They help with education, conservation, and other important issues.
This move shows Buffett's long-term plan for his wealth. He wants his family to continue his giving spirit. These foundations will carry on his legacy of helping others for years to come.
