Novo Drug Shows 25 Percent Weight Loss in Trial

The race to build better weight loss drugs keeps heating up. Drugmaker Novo Nordisk shared fresh data on its next big shot, called CagriSema.

The company says women who took the injection lost up to 25 percent of their body weight. That tops the results from Wegovy, the company's current hit medicine. CagriSema combines two drugs to curb appetite and control blood sugar.

Doctors tracked patients in a large late-stage trial. Novo Nordisk hopes this new medicine gives patients even more power over their health.

New medicines mean more choices for families and doctors. Strong test results also push other drugmakers to create better treatments.
