Palantir Beat Hard. The Open Is About What the Guide Changed.
Palantir printed a clean beat after Monday's close and raised the year. Tuesday's open is not a victory lap. It is a test of whether the AI software tape still pays for growth this loud.
The print landed. Now the cash session has to price it.
Palantir reported after Monday's close and did not whisper. Adjusted earnings came in near $0.41 a share against a street mark in the low-to-mid $0.30s. Revenue landed near $1.94 billion, above a consensus cluster around $1.81 billion. Management raised full-year 2026 revenue toward roughly $8.15 billion to $8.16 billion and pushed U.S. commercial guidance higher again.
After-hours trading cheered. That is not the same thing as a clean Tuesday open.
What actually changed overnight
The story is not "Palantir beat." Plenty of AI names beat and still sell off. The story is that commercial and U.S. growth stayed loud enough for management to lift the year in public, with cash generation still thick enough that the software complex has to decide if this is proof or perfection already priced.
U.S. revenue growth near 115% year over year and total growth near 93% are the headline math. The useful part for readers is simpler: did the AI platform story still convert into contracts, or did the stock need a softer guide to keep climbing?
Last night answered the first question. Tuesday answers the second.
How to read the open without joining the stadium
Watch three things before lunch.
The stock versus the sector. If Palantir gaps and holds while other software names lag, the tape is treating this as a company event. If the whole AI software sleeve lifts, the print is rewriting a basket.
Guidance language, not the victory lap. Raised revenue is the fact. Whether desks treat the new year number as conservative or stretched will show up in the first hour more than any after-hours screenshot.
The handoff to hardware. SpaceX reports after Tuesday's close. AMD is still on the week's silicon calendar. A strong software print that dies into a weak hardware answer is a different week than a software beat that opens a two-day AI bid.
What this is not
This is not a buy alert and not a price target. It is a map for a session that starts with last night's numbers already in the tape.
If Palantir sells off on strong results, the argument is valuation. If it holds the gap while peers fade, the argument is relative strength inside AI software. Either way, Tuesday morning is the first real cash vote after the call, not a replay of the press release.
Keep the rest of the day honest too. Job openings and factory orders still hit mid-morning. SpaceX still owns the after-close slot. One clean software beat does not clear the calendar.
