Texas Stock Exchange Challenges Wall Street

A new stock exchange, TXSE, opens in Dallas, aiming to compete with traditional financial centers.

A new stock market is open for business. The Texas Stock Exchange, or TXSE, just launched in Dallas. This marks the first major stock exchange to start in the United States in decades. Many call it "Y'all Street" already.

TXSE wants to attract companies that list on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. It also hopes to host new companies going public. Over 100 investors support TXSE. These include big names like BlackRock and Citadel. The exchange has raised $120 million.

The TXSE launch shows a shift in the financial world. Texas offers lower costs and a strong economy. This new exchange could change where companies choose to list their shares.
