The Market Is Closed. Your Monday Script Is Still Being Written.

Saturday cash is closed. Friday's Mag 7 split and Monday's ISM factory pulse still need a weekend process, not a slogan.

Saturday afternoon does not print a cash tape. It still writes the story you will carry into Monday.

Friday left a clean split: Amazon's AI infrastructure print held up better than Apple's supply-friction guide. That is useful. It is not a finished week plan.

This letter is not a buy alert. It is a weekend process note for the days when the exchange is quiet and the narrative is not.

The real risk on a closed Saturday

When stocks stop trading, people do not stop deciding. They tidy the week into one sentence. "Tech won." "Mag 7 cracked." "Risk is back on."

Those slogans feel efficient. They also smuggle Friday's scoreboard into Monday's first hour before the next facts arrive.

Monday's first major U.S. factory pulse is the Institute for Supply Management manufacturing report (ISM Manufacturing PMI) at 10:00 a.m. Eastern. It is a survey of purchasing managers. Above 50 generally means factory activity is expanding. Below 50 generally means it is contracting. The headline number matters. The details matter more: new orders, employment, and prices paid.

Later in the week, the calendar thickens with more labor data and Friday's jobs report. Earnings names such as Palantir also sit on the near-term map. None of that needs a Saturday trade. All of it needs a Saturday filter.

Three questions worth writing down while the market is closed

  1. What did Friday actually pay for? Separate Amazon-style infrastructure demand from Apple-style hardware and supply friction. If you mash them into "tech," Monday will surprise you for free.
  2. What would change your mind on the first print? For ISM, decide in advance whether you care more about the headline, new orders, or prices paid. Pick one primary dial so you are not inventing a story after the release.
  3. What are you willing to hold through a quiet open? Weekend inventory is a choice. Size only what you can live with if Monday's first hour is noisy and unfinished.

Why this detour now

Cable will try to rent your weekend with Mag 7 reruns. Social feeds will try to rent it with certainty. The off-ramp is quieter: keep Friday's split screen, refuse one slogan, and arrive at Monday with a short watch list instead of a borrowed mood.

The market is closed. Your Monday script is still being written. Write your own lines before someone else hands you theirs.
